Charles François or Franz Knebel II (La Sarraz, May 10, 1810 - Rome, April 2, 1877) was a Swiss painter.
In 1822 when he was only 12 years old he came to Rome called by his cousin François Keiserman, who already had a reputation as an exalted watercolorist. Under his guidance he excelled in drawing and painting, but the deterioration of their relationship led him to break with the master and abandon his house in the Spanish Steps, embarking on his own business. From 1843 is his first documented presence at the Roman exhibition of the Society of Amateurs and Connoisseurs of Fine Arts in Rome.
