Underneath the cover bears an engraved dedication:“Gifted to Robert Henry Herbert, 12th Earl of Pembroke, 9th Earl of Montgomery as a token of her affection. That our memories may never be torn assunder. Ottavia Spinelli, Lady Herbert A.D. 1820″
