A slate desk paperweight inset with a micromosaic depicting the Arch of Septimius Severus with the columns of the Temple of Vespasian and Titus and the back of the Capitoline Hill in the background, within a banded malachite border and with various roman inlaid marble specimens pebbles.

Roman manufacture mid-19th century, c. 1850.

Dimensions 19 x 12.5 cm.

Excellent condition commensurate with age and use.

Slight chipping to edges.
