Snuff box micromosaic lancer on horseback
A french gold lined burlwood snuff box, hallmarks of the city of Paris. Mounted on the hinged cover a micromosaic on copper representing a lancer on horseback (probably a Polish light-weight lancer from the Vistola Legion part of the napoleonic army) within a foliate gilt frame.

Dimensions cm 5,5 x 8,5 x h 2 the box - cm 3,4 x 4,2 the mosaic.
Excellent condition commensurate with age.
The Vistola Legion was a polish division created by Napoleon the 1st in 1807 and they were part of the french army until 1814.
