Micromosaic set on a copper depicting the mausoleum of Cecilia Metella on the Appian Way in Rome, mounted on the lid of a burlwood snuff box lined in gilt silver.
The micromosaic of Roman manufacture from the early nineteenth century, around 1820, the French-made snuffbox of the same period.
Dimensions 5 cm for the micromosaic and 7 x 2 cm for the snuffbox.
Excellent condition commensurate with age.
